didn't make it to the movies this weekend, but i did watch capote (starring philip seymour hoffman) at home... it was really good... was curious to see the performance that beat heath ledgers ennis del mar... and it didn't disappoint. i sometimes don't understand how they give academy awards, as it's such a matter of opinion. but i love watching all the nominees... which i haven't normally seen because i'm just not into "big" movies...

had fun in downtown. i don't normally like driving and parking in downtown l.a., but once i'm there i always enjoy walking around the city... i definitely feel like i should be more familiar with it..

i've kinda been "blog friendly" and i think i'm gonna put more me into it... not that any of it wasn't me... i think i might have been being a little safe. and i prefer not to be... as i think it limits the possibilities of unpredictability (in general, not blog wise).... and it's boring taboot...

so... yeah.

i love black... and this slip is perfect... well, after chopping it a bit...

i read a lot... i love movies, but don't have a tv, i watch dvds in my room projected on the wall.. i need underwear, but buy kimonos.. i drink too much coffee (almost always iced).. i pretty much exclusively shop either online or at salvation army.. i don't have many friends but like people.. i am good with my hands.. i am the kid who was supposed to do more.. i'm saving to go to paris... i love boots.. i am the worst of two worlds, a pessimistic hippie and a sweet goth so no one really likes me even though they relate or they like me and then realize i have strange opinions and would rather have small talk or just see me once in a while... i don't really eat sweets, i love burritos and i take everything spicy if possible... i can't decide if i should put music on my blog because i know it annoys some people, but sometimes music says more about someone than words on a page...

yesterday, i didn't know what to say...
i was speechless yet my mind was swirling with questions about life...

it was strange. wednesday night i took out my sewing machine and put it on the dining table... to do some minor mending thursday morning. i haven't sewn in months... yesterday i couldn't comment or do a post of my own, but i started a dress after my mending was done...

lee alexander mcqueen is my favorite designer.
his penchant for the dark & victorian and his imagination that catapulted us into the future of fashion is exactly what made me fall in love with his passion. he was a true artist with a unique vision.

i think most of us have felt like life is unbearable at times. like we can no longer continue. and i think that is what saddens me most. to know that he was in that place. i think i may stray to that side more often than most i know... maybe not... but i know how it feels to be drowning in my own head...

i wish it wasn't the end. maybe i'm selfish. maybe i need people walking around this planet that see more than what is in front of them. that create the impossible and that don't care what we are supposed to do, but still care about people enough to share their passion, their love, their art, their soul.

i will continue to go back to his art to be inspired.

my everyday uniform...
aa leggings, a shirt, a cardigan, a scarf... with a jacket, beanie, another scarf and knee boots as the day progresses. i feel a tad sniffley, but i'm hoping that wears off so i can get out of the cave this weekend. i tend to sit here and not really get out except to get groceries... !!!!! such a change for me... i'm normally a fly by the wind kind of gal... can't really sit in one place too long..

i'm excited to see the imaginarium of doctor parnassus... i haven't seen or heard much about it(as far as reviews go)... but i gotta see heaths last film... from the previews it looks like a moving dali painting, who could resist that?

lunch at the brite spot. yummy. was too hungry to take pix before i ate... if you are in l.a. you should definitely stop in... huge menu... lots of vegan and vegetarian options... and desserts straight from willy wonkas factory. to be honest i'm not your normal grrl, chocolate does not fix anything, but their vegan lava cake Rocks.

a great sunday, wanted the chairs at the coffee shop... i need some new ones.. but we are picky... have to be comfy and sturdy. i'm all about sturdy. tired of the buying and re-buying a couple years later... i want those things that stay around and become part of the family. quick fixes just don't work for me. maybe some furniture thrifting is in the cards for the week...

i'm loving the silhouette of a sleeveless shirt, bundled neck, tights/leggings and towering boots. hence some of the sillier pictures. i'm grazing my face with my scarf in the pic that you are currently wondering, what is she doing in that pic... haha...

sherlock holmes was amazing. i loved the colors. guy ritchie did it again.

ohhh, if you haven't noticed i too opened a blog shop... check it out... lots of stuff and i'm gonna be regularly updating it for the next couple weeks as i'm cleaning out my closet and trunk. i also currently have some great vintage in my etsy shop.
