the weather finally got to me today. i had the blues in a major kind of way. but it's all good. i mosied around doing errands when i happened across an accordion player (playing chim chiminey!!!) and i remembered who i am...

i've been enjoying the weather through and through. i feel like l.a. is taking a shower... and i love being out in it...
sunday had some unexpected turns, but it ended up great... traipsed around echo park with one of my favorite people in the world... we took photos of each other in the rain, listened to music, drove around, parked around, scoped people and ate hot sandwiches in a bustling diner... we don't get to hang often so i revel in it and do silly things like take photos of our shoes...
i would much prefer the silhouette of my outfit without the hanging shawl cardi, but it was cold and said amigo "borrowed" my shorter cardigan(err!)... and i needed the extra layer... so superhero vibes were unavoidable. i kinda feel like this is a bowie batman frankenstein look, but as i am a fan of all three i embraced it with a grin on my face...
..yes, i took the buttons off my jacket... hopefully time will erase the evidence of their former presence...

this weekend was weird. somber but more adventurous/random than the last dozen. we went to amoeba on saturday. last week at toi they were playing live queens of the stone age... and i had to have it... i also picked up a couple clash albums that i have on cassette(wt???), ramones & misfits...
just so you know... amoeba records is heaven...
i've been searching long and hard for these boots! and i finally found them! and i still can't believe they are my size... what luck... thank you boot goddesses! soooo me... swoon ;)

this entire look is secondhand 'cept the beanie and socks... i don't think i've ever bought socks secondhand now that i think about it... although i've stolen quite a few pairs from my mom in the name of "borrowing"
but that doesn't count, she is my mom ;)

so i just reread this post to proof it and the first couple lines reminded me of this video.

ps i forgot to mention that i have a crush on the grrl painted above... and i wanted to document her face before she went away as street art often does... she reminds me of a fafi grrl...

i made this top a couple weeks ago and have worn it lots since these photos were taken... seems as though i'm gravitating towards clothing that i can sleep in... hmmmm... including harems... who knew...

i watched 'the other boleyn girl' last night. it kind of overtook my thoughts for the day...

thrifted mini dresses, black tights and black boots have been an easy constant in my life for a long time.

i cut my bangs this week and instead of the straight across cut i went for the rounded 60s bangs... happy with it...

cleaned all weekend. sometimes you start something and don't realize it till you're in deep... yea, that happened...

off to toi for dinner... i don't eat out often so i'm pretty excited!

the perfect fall uniform. all i would have to do is add my parka, black scarf and boots... the bag would be the perfect carryall and i would have enough room to tote around my yarn (i am always crocheting something... normally a hat) which i always have with me to cure random spurts of boredom

i'm kinda dying to take a trip anywhere and go cd shopping (as in two separate events)... i guess i need to jump on that itunes thing huh? i mean i do have itunes, but all the music was loaded from cds.... analog grrl in a digital world...

until then it'll be all about velvet and amy winehouse...and pink floyd and neil young and iggy pop and daydreaming and zoning out and taking walks and drinking coffee and not sleeping and creating and did i say daydreaming?
