in high school i often tied a ribbon or cord around my neck.  it is simple and i love chokers.  might be bringing it back in a big way.

reminds me of this story from this book.  it was a favorite of mine as a lil grrl.  i told it on a date when i was wearing a ribbon around my neck... that didn't go over so well...

so this was my first stylemint tee and i've since collected three more... soooo soft.... and the price is right. i am a tee kind of grrl and am on a constant treasure hunt for tee perfection. i think i wear one almost everyday. reallyreally (insert shrek voice here). most of my favs come from thriftstores because of how worn in they are and stylemint tees somehow feel like you've owned them for years... my kind of tee.

this sweater is one of my best scores off etsy.... it is heavy and cotton! yes cotton... what a concept huh? it seems to be so hard to find cotton knits these days... i don't get it. ohhh and the superhero-ness of this sweater puts it up there in the ranks... warm cozy and doubles as a cape? yeah! it helps inspire the crazy scenarios that go through my head as i walk down the street. yes, i am walking through a comic book or sometimes an alter universe... it really just depends on the day.

okey dokey.... soooo i haven't found THE jeans yet... it's just so hard to spend that much on jeans and not be sure (since i mostly shop online).... so i got the rag & bone hat instead :-/

i watched 'the other boleyn girl' last night. it kind of overtook my thoughts for the day...

thrifted mini dresses, black tights and black boots have been an easy constant in my life for a long time.

i cut my bangs this week and instead of the straight across cut i went for the rounded 60s bangs... happy with it...

cleaned all weekend. sometimes you start something and don't realize it till you're in deep... yea, that happened...

off to toi for dinner... i don't eat out often so i'm pretty excited!

i hope everyone (in the u.s.) had a wonderful fourth! i had quite a relaxing day and deeply enjoyed my independence :) strawberries and viewing fireworks commenced among the normal bravegrrl sunday musings...
this is one of my new/used dresses... and i think i love it... so 60ish... and ohhh how i love pockets! i really want to wear it with some knee socks and my flat knee boots, but it isn't the weather for that...

this week..

~i spent at least five hours at the park and maybe an accumulative hour thinking about sea horses

~i did a lot of thrifting and have added another vintage 3/4 length tea dress and the dress & blouse i'm wearing in this post to my closet... i was shopping for work, but i like to mix business with pleasure... especially when business really means reconstructing secondhand pieces into something one of kind and a bit kooky

~i got my feelings hurt for someone

~i learned that mothball fumes are veryvery toxic... i never use them... but i researched it because i've found pieces at thriftstores that reak of mothball fumes and wanted to know if there was a way to get it out... the answer... ridding the item of the odor doesn't rid it of actual chemicals absorbed into the fabric! yuck!

~i hand washed all my pretties

~i spent too much time reading blogs and too little time reading books

~i colored

and tomorrow starts a new week...

i tried to add a music player to my blog today, but it didn't really work out. i will try again another time. i was semi successful, but the music didn't seem to stream well and was stuttering... hmmmm... i guess that may be my connection... anyways. this is the song i was trying to add. listen if you have the time. i love ani.

some bad energy came my way this week... i'm normally pretty good at not absorbing it... and although i'm proud of myself for not getting "into" it i am definitely unmotivated. it's amazing how bad energy can kill motivation... that's why it's important to surround yourself with good people. creative people. kind people. but anyways, i haven't been myself this week...
