can't count all the ways

Photobucket
walking around the block in south pasadena... got some coffee at busters, did a jig in the alley behind the antique shops and posed an ancient pose in front of a big door.

~my favorite food is sushi, burritos and noodlesnoodlesnoodles
~i'm addicted to tapatio
~i've been using vasoline as lip balm since i was little... my lips were so badly chapped in the 4th grade that it looked like the top of my lips were right under my nostrils and the bottom was near my chin (and yes this is documented in a school photo) pretty much everybody stopped talking to me towards the end of grade school because of stuff like this... then i met the punks/goths/other rejects in high school :) but i didn't really fit in with them either because i got good grades and was in the dance team
~i walk around on my tippy toes at home
~i love vampires. this isn't a new thing. i've been reading vampire novels since the 4th grade. when every other grrl was dreaming about being a princess or popular, i was hoping a vampire would come through my window and make me a creature of the night and we would travel the world together forever...
~i have crushes on characters as opposed to stars... like albus dumbledore, gandalf, corbin dallas, edward scissorhands, vampire bill, leeloo, wolverine.. and the list goes on and on
~i've cried after finishing a book just because i didn't want to leave that world
~i believe

i bought this fuzzy thing at zara last spring and haven't been able to wear it until recently because of the weather. i really love these easy steps into fall. it's fun to feel the breeze moving differently around you during your evening walks...
i think this 'vest' is supposed to be some kind of faux fur, but it reminds me more of a 70s shag carpet or a muppet... i love it. it was actually the first thing i bought at zara and the only thing until yesterday. i got another fuzzy thing, but totally different than this. i will just have to show you. i'm kinda loving lots of the fall stuff at zara right now... this is no bueno for the traveling fund!
Photobucket
i watched the yeah yeah yeahs tell me what rockers to swallow concert on dvd yesterday... karen o has some crazy mad energy. i ♥ netflix.
Photobucket
my mom has old photos of me doing this pose when i was 5 and 6 and 7 and well... some things never change. i am still a little grrl. you know that song 'girl you'll be woman soon'? it has always sounded like neil was personally singing to me...
Photobucket
this photo really says worlds about me. i am doing some variation of this in between shots all the time...

OMG! What an outfit! It's perfect. I use to be "gothic" in middle school and even a little in high school but I was also a cheerleader. They use to call me "the rocker cheerleader". I also use to use vaseline as lip balm...I use to take my mom's almost empty carmex things and put vaseline in them. I definitely get what your saying about getting lost in characters instead being "in love" with a star...honestly there isn't one movie that I am dying to meet.

sabella!, sabella!, sabella! :)

"pray tell, jus' where does one possibly begin, babe...!? :)

...you're sometimes, seemingly, dreamingly, beyond mere words, sweetheart; but, i'll proffer some skant attempt... ;)

first this kinda appropos sharing ...

ya know, durin' those formative years, never had a prob "somehow fittin' in...", always bein' a talented, gifted athlete/jock in basketball, football, & soccer, while as well, so-called, "academically gifted," so to speak...

however, the latter led me on this "incredible, historic journey of sorts," which had to have been one of the "most lonely" & "adolescent-angst-inducing" in all-time-history! honestly, "no exaggeration here," whatsoever; and, i jus' know i hav ta & am determined to eventually write this book 'bout it! really, couldn't even begin to give "capsule version," here. ;)

suffice it to say, the only thing which really, truly, sustained me (and still does) through it all, is the followin' passage i came across as a wall poster (still have it, tho' bit "worn & weathered) back then:

Why should we be in such
desperate haste to succeed
and in such desperate enterprises?
If a (wo)man does not keep pace
with her/his companions,
perhaps it is because (s)he hears
a different drummer.
Let her/him step to the music
(s)he hears,
however measured or far away... ~ ~ ~ Thoreau

sabella, based on your soo sweetly personal, insightful, somewhat intimate sharing (thanks, & for other "amazingly wondrous windows...!") --- i feel you can likely, kinda in "your own delightfully unique way," wondrously relate, yourself, right!?

buttt, like the proverbial "piece of coal," having undergone "whatever stesses & pressures" you might've had to endure, sweetheart; it was ULTIMATELY all so well worth it, as jus' WONTCHA "MAAAVELOOUSSLY LOOK!", "SOO BREATHTAKINGLY BEHOLD!" --- the "utterly brilliantly, sparkliing, scintillating, darling of a 'diamond dreamgrrl'" it ALL helped to "soo wondrously, magnificently, manifest 'U 2 B'," with your "bodaciously, bravegrrl beautiful, beautiful..." self!!! :)

sabella, absolutely, positively, dear --- "no one, no one, no onnnneee ...," whatsoever, like ya, babe! ;) <333

namaste,
xoxo

Girl, you are gorgeous! Love love love the shoes.

And ha, I also fall in love with characters rather than people! It's quite the inconvenience. x

Lorena said...

I have crushes on characters as opposed to stars too, when I was really little I had the biggest crush on Kaneda from Akira haha! I still don't feel any strong attraction to any stars/actors in particular but intriguing, charismatic characters catch my interest - maybe part of it is knowing they aren't real?

Kristen said...

love the fur vest but most importantly...my god those are some killer boots!

Anonymous said...

jus' another take/slant on "crushes of characters" as opposed to acutal moviestars, themselves...

now in real life, unfortunately, meg ryan doesn't seem to have quite been able to pull it off. however, her characters in three of her more popular movies --- "sleepless in seattle," "you've got mail," & "city of angels" --- she portrayed a certain kinda charmingly intelligent & independent, humourous & quite-the-dreamer, yet, down-to-earth, truly romantically, adventurous soul.

now, my open-ended-question-wondering is...? are there really, remotely, any actual real-to-life such amazingly charming & captivatingly romantic, dreamy & daring ladies/women here in our present contemporay society/world!? please, does someone, anyone (lol), dare or care to present some kinda take or viewpoint!? jus' sayin', jus inquisitve...? ;)
