i can tell that we're going to be friends...

i was told i look like axl rose when i wear headbands like this. i think that is funny. i wasn't going for the axel look, but i do love it, whatever you want to call it. it kind of serves as a head covering... or shall i say hair covering. you know those days. well, that is like everyday for me... i'm just not a high maintenance or shall i say beyond two minute maintenance kind of grrl. i think i need to make a couple in velvet.... ok, now the search is on for stretchy velvet...

the bf brought home some fresh ciabatta so i grilled it on my cast iron skillet (which by the way, i totally adore) with some olive oil and topped it with smoked mozzarella, roma tomatoes and a pinch of sea salt... yummmmmmm... quick and yummy. this is what i eat when i want something not so healthy, haha...

random... i cook at least two meals a day... often three...
i prefer a second serving to dessert most of the time...

i'm starting to lose track of time... i think these were taken two weekends ago... but i'm not sure. maybe i need coffee... but i'm trying to cut back a bit... just one more.

1/i wasn't hiking in the last outfit post... i parked right next to where i took the photos :) i am more than comfortable walking in heels for hours on end, but i don't have a death wish haha!

5/summer has finally arrived here in l.a. and i'm loving it!
6/i wear minnetonka moccasins like everyday. i swear by them. i don't really do flip flops.
6/i haven't been eating cheese lately... but dang this lunch was GOOD...

saturday was pretty... and a little breezy

went to Maya for the first time in a long time... i love that store. was in desperate need of nag champa (my favorite incense) and finally replaced my hoops that broke over a year ago :) i am a hoop grrl :)

ate homemade sandwiches in the car

got some really strong iced coffees at starbucks

i got this dress at a vintage shop that is down the street from my house... it's not really expensive, but definitely no salvation army. but they do have a 99cent rack in the front to attract customers... and this is where i found this dress. yes! 99 cents! it did need a bit of mending, but now it's ready to rock the spring. and i think it was made to wear with this blouse (which made it's debut in my last post)... what a find, huh? this combo makes me feel like a grrl from the 30s...

i've kinda been "blog friendly" and i think i'm gonna put more me into it... not that any of it wasn't me... i think i might have been being a little safe. and i prefer not to be... as i think it limits the possibilities of unpredictability (in general, not blog wise).... and it's boring taboot...

so... yeah.

i love black... and this slip is perfect... well, after chopping it a bit...

i read a lot... i love movies, but don't have a tv, i watch dvds in my room projected on the wall.. i need underwear, but buy kimonos.. i drink too much coffee (almost always iced).. i pretty much exclusively shop either online or at salvation army.. i don't have many friends but like people.. i am good with my hands.. i am the kid who was supposed to do more.. i'm saving to go to paris... i love boots.. i am the worst of two worlds, a pessimistic hippie and a sweet goth so no one really likes me even though they relate or they like me and then realize i have strange opinions and would rather have small talk or just see me once in a while... i don't really eat sweets, i love burritos and i take everything spicy if possible... i can't decide if i should put music on my blog because i know it annoys some people, but sometimes music says more about someone than words on a page...

my everyday uniform...
aa leggings, a shirt, a cardigan, a scarf... with a jacket, beanie, another scarf and knee boots as the day progresses. i feel a tad sniffley, but i'm hoping that wears off so i can get out of the cave this weekend. i tend to sit here and not really get out except to get groceries... !!!!! such a change for me... i'm normally a fly by the wind kind of gal... can't really sit in one place too long..

i'm excited to see the imaginarium of doctor parnassus... i haven't seen or heard much about it(as far as reviews go)... but i gotta see heaths last film... from the previews it looks like a moving dali painting, who could resist that?

lunch at the brite spot. yummy. was too hungry to take pix before i ate... if you are in l.a. you should definitely stop in... huge menu... lots of vegan and vegetarian options... and desserts straight from willy wonkas factory. to be honest i'm not your normal grrl, chocolate does not fix anything, but their vegan lava cake Rocks.
