sometimes wearing all your favorites is the best thing to do. lots of times i feel like a little grrl playing dress up... well, actually i feel that way all the time... but this outfit is 100% me. thigh highs, mixed prints, comfort, miu mius... all things i love. i'm sure you ladies know what i mean...

so yeah, i had fun on sunday...

and i'm wearing all my finds from maya too! just like a kid, huh?

ninety nine cent dress

saturday was pretty... and a little breezy

went to Maya for the first time in a long time... i love that store. was in desperate need of nag champa (my favorite incense) and finally replaced my hoops that broke over a year ago :) i am a hoop grrl :)

ate homemade sandwiches in the car

got some really strong iced coffees at starbucks

my outfit shots didn't really work in this lighting, but i still think it's pretty.
i got this dress at a vintage shop that is down the street from my house... it's not really expensive, but definitely no salvation army. but they do have a 99cent rack in the front to attract customers... and this is where i found this dress. yes! 99 cents! it did need a bit of mending, but now it's ready to rock the spring. and i think it was made to wear with this blouse (which made it's debut in my last post)... what a find, huh? this combo makes me feel like a grrl from the 30s...

and this necklace was given to me by my momma when i was a wee thang... i love it... i normally am not into dainty things... but i love this little three jade heart necklace ♥

i ♥ miu miu and the salvation army

my miu mius came.... aren't they freakN adorable? i can't wait to wear them... i sold both pairs of emma cooks and the jessica simpson dany platforms to justify buying these... and i'm sooo happy i did. i don't have a shopping problem or anything (cept maybe thrifting at real thrift stores) and only buy things i love, but there have been times when "getting a deal" on ebay got me. so i am reminding myself that i'd rather save and buy things i love...

i also had an extremely fruitful trip to the salvation army where i scored a thin cinnamon brown leather belt, a rope and dark brown braided belt, a long khaki skirt that i am gonna cut to appropriate spring length, a pair of army green mens shorts from the 70s, a bunch of shirts to sew into daydreamer tops (which i will post when i'm done), a sheer peach colored blouse with brown polka dot dots (pictured above) and a rainbow dyed (faux?) tail that i have no idea what i'm gonna do with yet, but makes me extremely happy. i've been wearing the peach blouse around the house over my nightgown all week and the tail has been sitting next to my laptop... i'm definitely still on my salvation army high. i think what made me even more happy is that it was the salvation army that i used to walk to from my house when i still lived with my momma.... i think all my clothing from 14-19 was from there ♥

and i also scored some wooden toys and a handmade pot (i'm collecting them for a succulent garden that will hopefully be happening this spring) from the pasadena salvation the day before.... yes, quite a week!

and although i've had an extreme lack of sleep and some unexpected bumps this week, i couldn't be happier... i guess i am just a thrift store grrl...

on sunday we took a walk through cal tech.... it is one of my favorite strolls... sooo pretty and right now there are lots of flowers.

these pictures don't do it just, but the architecture is beautiful... and there are turtles and squirrels everywhere...

off to lala land

we do a lot of wandering.
the best of times, we stumble across hidden treasures, eat yummy food and drink great coffee.... the worst of times, we aimlessly try to find all of the above and end up grumpy because we need food or caffeine. today wasn't the worst, but it did include a lot of traffic and watery coffee.... errr

but i'm loving the weather....

and i always have tomorrow.

gonna get in bed and curl up with my new pillow and a book :)

i love the farmers market. i love my basket and bringing my veggies home and putting them away...

this is something i wear often. more often than anything that i've shown here on this blog. especially the moccasins.... i wear them everyday. well, almost everyday. so comfy. and well, i'm pretty much attached to these sunnies that i got for valentines day. very cool place called old focals in old town pasadena (which i now call "new town" because everything is so new and shiney)... tons of vintage frames and you custom pick the lenses... i picked purple of course. i've been wanting some round sunnies for a long time and these are perfect! patience paid off :)

most of the stuff i make is made of vintage materials... some reconstructed out of things i pick up at the thrift store and just like the print or the feel of the fabric...

i love making something new out of something old or considered trash... it feels like i'm giving something new life

last weekend... still enjoying the weather. the park was beautiful, all wet and glittery...

although today i must admit, i was longing for spring.... summer dresses, messy sand swept hair, no shoes, heirloom tomato salads, farmers markets, fixing up my patio and buying some plants to liven things up a bit...

haven't been feeling it, maybe it's the weather. so sorry if i haven't got back to a lot of your comments... but i do read them all :)

breathe some love in the air and read a good book, it helps
